Perhaps due for a long time, WhatsApp has finally released its own version of stickers for both iOS and Android users. The announcement regarding the update was made by the company via a blog post on 26 October and since then the feature has been rolling out to WhatsApp users.
The messaging app offers stickers in the form of emojis, camera features, status and animated GIFs, and it is looking to add more features in the times to come. The update is available in the latest 2.18.331 version of WhatsApp.
Currently, there are only limited animations available on WhatsApp, but the company has added support for third-party stickers, which allows developers to create customised stickers for the platform.
“To start, we're launching sticker packs created by our designers at WhatsApp and a selection of stickers from other artists.”
