We were all aware that Sony is kicking off its VR gaming action with the PlayStation VR headset. But little did we know about how the device will function, or how to get the best out of virtual reality, right in your living room.
But that’s finally about to change because the $399 headset will be available in the coming months. According to Sony, users will need around 60-sq ft area of free space to experience VR at its best.
Interestingly, Sony has also recommended users to remain seated all the time while using the device. And whenever the user is expected to stand, he/she needs to be aware of their surroundings, in order to avoid any mishap. Sony has also advised only kids above 12 years to play it.
The consumer-ready version of the Sony PlayStation VR headset gets a 5.7-inch OLED display with full-HD resolution, supports 360-degree viewing and offers 3D audio compatibility as well.
Sony’s VR headset will be lining up against the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive this year. However, the PlayStation VR is the only headset that works exclusively with a gaming console.
We can’t wait to get our hands on this device.
