Vodafone India is hot on the heels of Airtel with its 4G service in India and they’re launching in various parts of the country – this time, it’s Kolkata. The telecom provider has tapped into pivotal points of the city such as BBD Bag, Park Street, Alipore, Ballygunge, Salt Lake Sector 5, Airport and EM bypass. As per Vodafone, the roll-out will be completed across all parts of Kolkata by June 2016 in a phased manner.

The official launch in Kolkata is the company’s second roll-out in India, following the launch of Vodafone 4G services in Kerala and Karnataka earlier this year.

Vodafone’s 4G service in Kolkata is said to be built on a strong fibre backhaul that should justifiably deliver high-speed internet speeds on-the-go.

Vodafone has priced its data packs starting from Rs 42 for 150MB of data, going up to Rs 2,049 for 25GB data. In addition to this, Vodafone also claims to be the first telecom provider to facilitate 4G international roaming in the UK, Germany, Romania, Spain and Netherlands to its existing customer base.
