CES arrived in Asia, bringing more than 200 exhibitors keen to display their latest tech innovations. The inaugural Shanghai event also brought some of the latest tech trends with it — most notably wearable technology.
G-Wearables, a Chinese company based out of Beijing, launched its latest fitness tracking and musical device, called the ‘Gogo-S’ ear piece, which consists of two independent wearable devices which connect via blue tooth, rather than using traditional wires.
It uses a new technology called “Duet Play”. This allows the devices to connect with a smart phone and each other without wires, playing audio to the wearer simultaneously. Gogo-S also has an optical sensor which monitors a person’s heartbeat through their ears.

US-based wearable device makers, Misfit, launched a new wearable sports tracker called ‘Flash’ at the event.
The device connects to smart phones via a dedicated app, allowing exercise enthusiasts to track their progress and monitor the amount of steps they take.
The company claims the device is also water resistant to 30 metres (98 feet) and can last six months on just one coin cell battery.
Market research indicates the wearable technology market will continue to grow in 2015 with many manufacturers launching new products.
According to international market researchers IDC (International Data Corporation), shipments of smart wearable devices in China will exceed 6.4 million in 2015.
