The god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar was busy launching a smartphone in New Delhi, ahead of the India vs West Indies World T20 championship semi-final.
The new smartphone brand in India, Smartron announced the launch of its first ever range of products, t.book and t.phone.
Sachin Tendulkar is also a shareholder and brand ambassador of the company.
The Smartron t.phone is a 5.5-inch device for which the booking will start on 18 April 2016 on an e-commerce platform.
The Smartron t.book is a Windows-based tablet priced at Rs 39,000 and will go on sale starting 8 April 2016.
Smartron commissioned its operations in Hyderabad and Bengaluru in August 2014. The company has so far invested over $10 million to support the R&D activities and plans to spend $100 million over the next couple of years to establish Smartron as a global brand.
Striving to innovate in the smart devices and IoT segment, the launch of the first two products, t.book and t.phone coupled with tron.x is the first step towards achieving this goal.
