It’s confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 is launching on 21 February 2016 at the Unpacked 2016 event. The phone is going to launch along with an edge version.

The Galaxy S7 will be the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S6, which is currently the company’s flagship smartphone.

If leaks are to be believed, the Galaxy S7 will retain the 5.1-inch display and the S7 Edge may come with a larger 5.5-inch display. Both, the S7 and S7 Edge, will retain the Super AMOLED display.

Samsung will again offer 32GB and 64GB options for internal storage and may launch a 128GB version.

The company is expected to go with a bigger 3000mAh battery on the S7 as compared to the 2700mAh on the S6.

And as usual the smartphones will come with the new Snapdragon 820 processor in the US market while the rest of the world will get Samsung’s own Exynos processors.

Now the biggest question here is, will it be as successful as the S6 and the S6 edge?

We doubt that simply because the hardware upgrades are minimal. Just because a company has to come out with an upgrade every year doesn’t mean that you just tinker around with a few specs here and there and launch the product.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge are fine products and we hope that the new Galaxy S7 isn’t just another iPhone 6s – all bling and no substance.
