JioPhone Pre-Booking: Online Stores Crash, Few Takers Offline

Day one the pre-booking of the Reliance JioPhone turned out to be a dull affair, with offline retail stores looking rather deserted. However, the online portal attracted a lot of traffic as Jio stores and the MyJio app crashed when we tried to book a phone online.

Amid much anticipation, the pre-booking of the "effectively-free" 4G VoLTE JioPhone began on 24 August.

Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani has already announced that Jio is looking to bring 5 million phones to the market a week.

While the phone comes with an "effective" price tag of Rs 0, one needs to keep in mind that a security of Rs 1,500 would be required, and the same amount is fully refundable after three years, if you return the phone.

It’s Official, Google Finally Names Android O As Oreo

After much speculation, Google has decided on the name Oreo for Android O, or 8.0 as you call it. The big reveal took place on August 21, which coincided with the solar eclipse in the United States.

Google has somewhat gone back to the basics with Android Oreo, focusing on user-friendly features, instead of going for a design overhaul.

Micromax Canvas Infinity First Look: Bezel-Less Display for the Masses

Micromax has unveiled its Canvas Infinity smartphone, which boasts a 18:9 ratio on a near bezel-less display. While other phones that come with this feature would require you to shell out over Rs 15,000, Micromax has opted for a price point of Rs 9,999.
