• The Supreme Court on Thursday, 12 October, reportedly agreed to examine a plea seeking a regulatory regime to make public transport authorities, including app-based taxi services – like Ola and Uber – accountable for offence committed by vehicle drivers.
• The apex court has asked the Centre to examine the issue and respond to how these services can be regulated.
• According to reports, the hearing has been scheduled for 7 December.
