Reliance Jio will start selling its JioPhone in India from September, for which consumers need to pre-book the device after 24 August, by depositing a one-time refundable amount of Rs 1,500.

But it looks like Jio is in a hurry to get as many users on its network as possible, which is why they’ve started giving you an opportunity to book your slots already. How does one do that? Read below.

Book a Slot for JioPhone

You can head over to Jio.com where you can click on the JioPhone section on the website, which’ll take you to a page that looks like this.

As you can see above, Jio will get you in line for either the pre-booking or the sale of the JioPhone, which starts from September.

In all probability, this call ensures the user gets enrolled to Jio’s network, which is why they need you to keep identification proof like Aadhaar cards handy, providing instant SIM activation via eKYC.

Having said that, I am not sure why would a consumer need to have a 4G-enabled handset ready, when he/she is applying here to get the JioPhone in the first place.

Jio is expecting big demand for the JioPhone, and no wonder analysts estimate that the telco will be shipping more than 18 million units of the phone by the end of 2017 itself.

JioPhone effectively comes for free, but anybody getting the device will have to spend Rs 153 every month to avail data benefits, along with free voice calls, as offered by Jio from day one.
