Reliance Jio is making its presence felt in a big way this week. After dishing out another set of 4G data plans to its users in the form of Republic Day offer, the telecom operator is now shifting its focus to JioPhone users.
The telecom giant has announced a special data plan for JioPhone users – 1GB data at Rs 49. This plan is markedly different and cheaper than the existing ‘Rs 153 for 500 MB’ plan, The new JioPhone plan will be rolled out from 26 January.
The new entry-level plan comes bundled with 1GB of data and free voice calling, but unlike other Jio data plans, this one limits itself to 1GB for 28 days.
In addition, Jio has added new set of top-ups targeted at entry-level users.
The Republic Day offer comes a few weeks after Jio’s New Year offer of 1GB per day at Rs 149.
As of December 2017, Reliance Jio claimed to have 160 million users on its network. And the Republic Day offer proves the Ambani-owned telco is hungry for more.
