Reliance Jio has introduced four new data plans for its mobile users on Monday, which interestingly gets bundled with free minutes for calling non-Jio numbers. As you might be aware, the company has decided to start charging its users 6 paise/min, who’re regularly calling non-Jio network.
And this has forced Jio users to shell out extra money for making voice calls, something which the company had said its users will never have to do. The recent changes are likely to have caused some confusion for its users, which kind of explains the reason to offer four new plans, with more data but packs free voice minutes as well.
These plans start from Rs 222 for one month, going up to Rs 555 for three months.
With these new plans from Jio, the user is getting up to 3000 minutes of free voice time on non-Jio network, 2GB data per day and validity up to 84 days or three months.
Here’s a detailed look at the new plans introduced by Jio this week:
To cater to all kinds of users, Jio has added a fourth plan with 2GB per day with 3 months validity but you’re getting 3000 minutes of voice calls to non-Jio numbers. The company says that once you’ve exhausted the free voice minutes, each call to non-Jio number will be charged at 6 paisa/minute.
Same goes for data plans as well, and once use consume the alloted GBs, the speed drops down to 64 kbps for the remaining period. With these plans, Jio is probably looking to increase its average revenue per user (ARPU) over the next few quarters, without reducing the amount of data available to the user.
Reliance Jio last week, through its company statement, announced that it has amassed over 350 million users on its network.
