For all those people who don’t have the heavy hardware support to run a graphic-intensive game like PUBG, there’s some good news headed your way.

PUBG maker Tencent Games has officially launched a lighter version of the survival game dubbed PUBG MOBILE LITE, which is currently available in Philippines only. The Lite version of the app is available on Google Play Store, but can be downloaded only in select regions.

As seen on the Play Store, the game is only 30MB in size and is compatible with phones running on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. The current version of the game available is 0.5.0.

India has a big user base when it comes to phones in the sub-10k category, which offer average hardware and specifications. With the introduction of PUBG Lite, the game is sure to gain more subscribers.

Speaking to The Quint, Tencent India said it is looking forward to releasing the game in India after running some field tests.

We are currently testing out the LITE version of PUBG Mobile and optimising it for Indian networks and devices, post successful testing we will release it in India in the near future.

Also, before you try downloading the game from the Play Store, make sure that you are on the official PUBG Lite download page as there are many fake profiles on Google Play Store that are offering the Lite version of the game.

The original version of the game is almost 2GB in size and accounts for a lot of graphics processing, which is why it is recommended for smartphones which have heavy and compatible hardware.

The Lite version is indeed a blessing for people hunting for the PUBG experience on phones with minimal specifications.
