OnePlus 5 and 5T users will now be getting the latest version of OxygenOS 5.1.4. The update is aimed at improving battery life, via a sleep standby optimisation feature. The feature, when activated, will shut off mobile networks when the phone is in sleep mode, resulting in improved battery life.
To turn on the sleep standby optimisation:
However, you will not receive any notifications while the phone is in sleep mode since the feature turns off mobile networks in sleep mode.
According to OnePlus, the system identifies your sleep pattern based on the phone’s usage. What this means is that the sleep standby mode will automatically shut down when you are about to wake up. Or when the device detects that you're about to wake up. The update will roll out to few users initially before a full rollout.
You can check the availability of your OxygenOS update on your OnePlus device by going to Settings > System updates and then tapping the 'Check for Updates button' on the bottom-right of your screen.
