It’s official. The OnePlus 5 smartphone from OnePlus will pack the latest Snapdragon 835 processor from Qualcomm.

This is the same processor that was reserved for Samsung Galaxy S8 this year, and with that done and dusted, we have HTC and OnePlus becoming the next brands to pack the latest flagship chipset.

OnePlus 5 will also be the first Snapdragon 835-powered phone in India this year.

Both Qualcomm and OnePlus have confirmed this and we couldn’t be more excited about what the OnePlus 5 will offer this year.

OnePlus chief, Pete Lau, also reached out to the OnePlus community, sharing this news on Wednesday.

We’re proud to announce the OnePlus 5 will feature the Snapdragon™ 835 processor, which sets the foundation for smooth, powerful and efficient performance. With graphically-demanding apps, for example, you’ll notice how fast they load and how well they run.
