After its success with on-the-go Wi-Fi in cabs, Ola is now shifting its focus with Wi-Fi internet for its Ola Auto riders. Yes, the next time you hop on to Ola’s three wheeler service, you can turn off the mobile’s data and enjoy internet via Ola.
The service called ‘Auto-Connect Wi-Fi’ will be available in 73 cities, where Ola Auto is operational. Currently, Ola Auto services via 1,20,000 autos, which can help Ola add more consumers to its base in the coming months.
According to Ola, the Wi-Fi connectivity option for existing Ola customers kick-starts as soon as their trip begins. Anybody using Ola Auto for the first time, will need to connect via "one-time authentication" key on their phones.
While Ola is offering add-on features like Wi-Fi, and multimedia service like Ola Play, there’s no doubt that Uber might be missing out by not extending add-on services for its consumers.

As of now, Uber has integrated via UPI for direct payment, they’ve started Uber Moto that caters to people with budget constraints, and wouldn’t mind tagging along on a bike taxi.

The competition between Ola and Uber is intense in India, and as always, both these cab-aggregator brands will have to think out-of-box to attract riders, without charging extra for the services.
