Online dating app Tinder has recently released an update called ‘My Move’, a new opt-in setting that allows women the choice to exclusively send the first message to their matches, in India.
The feature has currently been rolled out only for iOS users.
Female users registered on the app can access My Move through a toggle within their in-app settings. They need to activate the feature by going to the app’s Message Controls and then turning on ‘My Move’.
When enabled, women can initiate these messages on their own time. The setting can be turned on or off at any point.
If supposedly, two users match, the My Move feature makes sure that the male user isn’t able to see who he has matched with until the female user sends him a message. It is then only that the conversation can be taken forward.
The company has said that the Android version of the feature will be rolled out a few weeks from now. India is one of the first markets where it is being rolled out.
