Amazon has announced its new lineup of Amazon Echo smart speakers for the Indian market at the company’s event in Seattle.
The newly launched Echo Dot, Echo Plus, and Echo Sub have already been put up for pre-orders on the Amazon India website, while the two remaining smart devices Echo Input and Echo Show will be in India early next year.
Amidst these, there were three other products that were introduced – the Echo Auto, Echo Link and Echo Link Amp – though these will not be coming to India.
Where the all-new Echo Dot has been priced at Rs 4,499, the Echo Dot Plus will set you back Rs 14,999. The new mid-range Echo Sub has been priced at Rs 12,999 for the Indian market.
The new Echo Dot sports a relatively new fabric finish and is touted to deliver better audio quality than before and will be available in three colour variants.
The Echo Plus has some updated hardware and is now Dolby-powered with a 3-inch woofer, a 0.8-inch tweeter which delivers more sound output than before. Another addition to the lineup is that the voice assistant will now allow users to adjust bass, treble, and midrange via voice commands.
The event highlighted two more devices that will be coming to India later — the Echo Show and Echo Input.
The Echo Input is an interesting gadget which allows you to transform any speaker into an Alexa-powered smart speaker. It does not have a speaker of its own, rather, it adds a mic and can be connected to an existing speaker.
It is the most inexpensive Echo product in the lineup and will be coming to India early next year.
The Echo Show was the only device at the event to come with display. It sports a 10-inch screen and a front camera. The company has already launched a smaller version of the Echo Show in India dubbed Echo spot which carries a round form factor and a very small display. Both these are India bound next year though the company hasn’t declared the official pricing for these products.
