It’s no mystery that Windows 10 updates have had a topsy-turvy ride. From the rushed released of Windows 10 in October last year to the quick patches released for vulnerabilities that caused a lot of problems to users, Windows 10 brought its own set of troubles with it.
Thankfully, Microsoft has released an update which will start removing installed Windows updates that cause problems in starting or running your device.
Also, some of the Windows updates which fail due to software incompatibilities will get automatically uninstalled.
You can be rest assured that Windows is uninstalling these problems and you will see a message at the bottom right corner of the screen after your system has recovered from a startup failure.
The message will read:
This particular feature could be used by devices that refuse to start up, after a new update is installed. The company has suggested that non-booting errors could be caused by "disk issues, system file corruption, invalid registry keys or other such causes."
After the problem has been solved and the corrupted update has been removed, Microsoft will block the update from going through again within 30 days.
This move will give the company and its partners the time it needs to investigate the matter and release a fix. Now, if even after fixing these updates, your PC is not able to function properly, Windows 10 will uninstall them again. Which is why, we’d recommend you to back up data regularly, to avoid major data mishaps.
