When you have the power to switch off lights without moving an inch, that’s when technology is making the progress you really need. Till now, you’ve been able to book a cab, order food and even call the plumber with an app. But now you may be able to use your phone to control the lights.
India-based Cube26 has created the IOTA Lite that smartly works with the help of Bluetooth. It’s available on Flipkart from November 6, priced at Rs 1,899. When you consider that Philips sells its Hue Smart lighting for around Rs 16,000, it’s refreshing to see someone making a product for the masses.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is pegged to become big in the coming years, but we all know how the Internet works in India right now. It’s fair to say that Bluetooth-based gadgets like IOTA Lite make sense.
IOTA Lite bulbs work with both Android (4.0 and above) and iOS (5.0 or later). The start-up has priced the IOTA Lite smart bulb at Rs 1,899, but you can get one of these starting later today for an introductory price of Rs 1,499 (till Diwali). If Cube26 gets all the features working, then Lite is a product worth going for. IOTA Lite will be available only on Flipkart in India.
