2016 is bullish on two main consumer tech products - Virtual Reality and Wearables. Following the trend, Indian consumer tech company, Intex, has launched FitRist, a smartband priced at Rs 999.
It will be sold exclusively on an e-commerce platform.
The FitRist comes with an OLED display and is loaded with various health & fitness features such as step monitoring, distance measurement, calorie count and monitoring of quality of sleep.
The smartband is bluetooth-enabled and syncs with most smartphones. Apart from tracking your activity, the band is also capable of displaying notifications, monitoring calls, controlling music tracks and also helps find your phone if its lost.
The company claims that FitRist’s battery can last up to 12 days. It also works as a Remote Shutter for the camera on your smartphone.
Like many smartbands in the market, the FitRist is waterproof and comes in two colour options, dark blue and white.
