Huawei unveiled its latest watch for the Indian consumers at Rs 22,999. The watch will be sold on an e-commerce platform and will also be available on offline retail channels and Huawei’s own online store.
The Huawei Watch, powered by Android Wear, enables users to stay connected wherever they are, with instant alerts for calls, texts, instant messages and emails.
With the latest version of Google’s Android Wear, both Android and iOS users will be able to connect to the Huawei Watch.
The watch features a fully circular 1.4-inch touch-sensitive AMOLED display, coated with scratch-proof sapphire crystal, a cold-forged stainless steel frame, and comes with a built-in heart rate monitor and 6-Axis motion sensors.
The display has a 400x400 pixel resolution at 286 ppi with a 10,000:1 high contrast ratio. The 6-Axis motion sensor can track activities including walking, running, cycling and mountain climbing.
At Rs 22,999 the watch competes with Motorola Moto 360 2nd Gen.
The Moto 360 2nd Gen comes with two display options of 1.37-inch (42mm) and 1.56-inch (46mm). The display has a backlit LCD, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 263 ppi with a resolution of 360x325 pixels (42mm) and 360X330 pixels (46mm). The Moto 360 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 APQ8026 processor and runs on Android Wear OS. It is also dust and water resistance and the price ranges from Rs 19,999 (42mm) to Rs 23,999 (46mm).
It will be a tough segment to crack for Huawei as the Apple Watch has recently got a price cut in India.
