Here Maps is the most popular navigation app among Nokia Lumia users. But starting next month, the mapping feature will only be available on Windows 8 Lumia devices.
The company, which was sold to BMW last year, has decided against working on apps for Windows 10 mobiles. This means that existing Nokia Lumia phone owners or anyone looking to buy the Lumia 950 or Lumia 950XL will have to manage with Microsoft’s built-in Windows Maps app.
If you are used to Here Maps and aren’t keen on using Microsoft’s Maps service, sticking to Windows 8 is your only option.
This isn’t a good sign for Microsoft. The company is gearing up to roll out the Windows 10 mobile update for Lumia phones that are still running Windows 8 and 8.1.
