Earlier this year at the Google I/O there was a big virtual reality promise showcased in the form of Daydream VR. This is a low-cost virtual reality headset, which combined with its controller gives everyone the taste of VR, without spending a fortune on high-powered devices.
Priced at $79 the Daydream View will be first available in the United States, but as is the case with Google, we expect the device to reach Indian shores in the coming months as well.
Daydream View for the time being only works with Google’s Pixel phone but Google promises that the ecosystem will soon be compliant with devices costing much less.
Some of the most popular video platforms are also partnering with Google to work on the Daydream View.
The device is lightweight, lets the user feel comfortable wearing it over his/her eyes, and is washable as well. The bundled controller is where the Daydream View takes the centre stage.
Without this device, it would have been hard for Google to convince people to go for this headset, something that could have been thought of by Samsung as well. If at all the Daydream View is meant to be affordable, then a India launch is surely around the corner.
