Google is taking big steps to ensure that its users get to safely browse the internet on its standalone web browser, Google Chrome. The extension is called Suspicious Site Reporter.
The search giant has released the new chrome extension as a part of their Google Safe Browsing program which gives users the ability to report suspicious websites, just with a click.
The extension will help users to stay away from websites which may try to steal sensitive financial data. Google is looking to develop this extension a a user reporting platform where anyone can report sketchy sites.
The extension will notify you when it thinks you are surfing on an unsafe website with the option for you to report the website to Google, which includes the URL, the screenshot and the IP address of the website.
If Chrome deems the website as dangerous it will add it to its list of harmful websites which will help other users to avoid navigating to these sites in the form of warnings and notifications.
You can download the extension by clicking here.
