Android users have already tasted the dark mode avatar on version 10, which for now is only available to Pixel phone users, as well as OnePlus 7 and Nokia users (in beta mode).
But even then, Google has been selective with which features get the dark theme, and this week, some users are getting the feature enabled on Gmail.
This again is only confined to Android 10 users, and those with Gmail version 2019.08.18.267 are seeing the option. If you don’t have the version yet, we suggest you update the app right away.
But if you already have the latest Gmail app and are still not able to change theme, don’t worry. It seems Google is rolling out the feature in a phased manner.
So, how can you get dark mode on Gmail? Follow these steps, if you have a phone running on Android 10 and got the latest version of Gmail app.
Google has mentioned that using apps on dark mode result in longer battery life of your phone. And with Android 10, battery life of devices could become even better.
Speaking of dark mode, popular messaging platform WhatsApp is yet to get dark mode, which has been widely reported since the start of 2019. The Facebook-owned platform it yet to roll out for both Android as well as iOS users across the globe.
