State owned telecom provider BSNL has relaunched its My BSNL mobile app, and added new features like payment utility, recharge services, rewards for watching ads and a messenger.
The updated app, however, according to a FirstPost report, is only available for Android users. For iOS users, its only the older app for now.
For BSNL users, a service called AddFone, which is part of the 'My BSNL Rewards' membership feature allows you to chat as well as call the phone numbers present on your address book.
If this will offer end-to-end encryption is not known yet.
Another big feature BSNL has added is the ability to gain rewards by watching advertisements. Watching ads will allow users to gain points, which can either be enacted into other wallet services or can be used while shopping at BSNL partner sites or apps.
Ads across 18 categories such as Food and Drinks, Health and Well being, shopping, etc will be available for users to consume.
