Internet connectivity over the 4G network is often a battle for many mobile networks and to tackle the same, India telecom provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched over 30,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country and is providing access to these via vouchers starting as low as Rs 19.

Last year at the India Mobile Congress, telecom minister Manoj Sinha had announced that India will have around 1 million wi-fi hotspots by the end of 2019. He also laid out plans of partnering with leading telecom operators for this venture.

However, a recent announcement by the state-owned operator suggests that it could be close to reaching its goals.

Other telecom operators like Vodafone Idea Limited and Bharti Airtel are also looking to expand their hotspot reach across the country and are looking to deploy the latest technology in order to achieve their target.

BSNL has listed all of the tariffs for its hotspot services on its official website with a total of four plans available right now.

The most economical plan worth Rs 19 offers 2GB of data valid for two days. The second plan worth Rs 39 (called BSNL WiFi) offers 7 day validity and 7GB of data.

The third plan from BSNL called Wifi 59 offers 15GB of data for a period of 15 days while the fourth plan worth Rs 69 offers 30GB of data for 28 days.

All these prices are inclusive of service tax and customers can buy these plans via the operators official website.

BSNL claims that it has deployed around 30,419 hotspots across 16,367 cities in India. BSNL customers will be able to connect to the hotspot by selecting the BSNL 4G Plus SSID from WiFi option.
