From the streets of Lost Santos to Gotham City, from Bruce Wayne to Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo, console gamers were on a hell of a ride in 2015. The staggering sales figures of these gaming titles show how much they are loved worldwide.
While some say that these games make you aggressive, others think they may make you smarter.
Love it or hate it, you simply cannot ignore the fact that these games are popular and here to stay. We bring you a list of the best of the lot in 2015.
But since we couldn’t choose a favourite from this lot, the list is in no particular order.
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) by Rockstar Games has time and again proved itself as the best open world game, and it decided to push the boundaries even further with the fifth edition of the GTA series.
This time you get to play as not one, not two, but three different characters with their own tastes, preferences and personality traits. You get to choose between a street hustler looking for real opportunities and serious money named Franklin, a professional ex-con whose retirement is a lot less rosy than he hoped it would be called Michael and Trevor, a violent maniac driven by the chance of a cheap high and the next big score. Running out of options, these three form a crew that risks everything in a series of daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life.
If you like leisure gaming, this is definitely worth checking out.
Need For Speed – it’s the game that all 90s’ kids grew up with.
The first version of this game was launched way back in 1994 and the franchise has sold over 150 million copies since then, making it one of the most successful gaming titles of all time. Gamers usually get a new version every year, but there was none in 2014, as the developers decided to invest two years, instead of one, in developing the 2015 release.
The result – the magic of racing around in the best cars that have been upgraded and modified to suit your personal taste, is back and how! It is one of the best racing games of all time.
Slaying Monsters has never been so ‘bloody’ awesome!
This game surpassed all expectations of the gaming community (they were very high in the first place) and offered an experience unlike any other Role Playing Game (RPG).
You play as a bounty hunter, a man of the road. You set your own goals and choose your own destinations. Go after the bounty on the head of a nasty monster pestering a village or help a scheming prince who needs a dirty job done.
No matter what style of quest you crave, the Witcher will provide it.
Fifa 16 has to be one of the most addictive gaming titles out there right now.
It doesn’t only look real but also gives you the feeling of being inside a football stadium while a match is on. With every miss and every goal, you will find yourself jumping in excitement.
You can build your career as an individual player (which can be customised to look like you), be a manager and take your team to the top or simply sit back and play a match between your two most favourite teams.
Ever wanted to be the Batman?
Batman: Arkham Knight is the third installment in the Arkham Knight series and it is the closest you get to becoming the dark knight.
In this edition, Scarecrow has gathered all the bad guys and taken control of the city, and it is up to you to save it. A fine crossover of an open world game and RPG, it can be one of the most difficult games to switch off, once you start playing.
And if you ever feel like chilling around the streets of Gotham, you can take the Batmobile around for a spin. Crashing it won’t be a problem as whatever you crash into, will be demolished anyway.
