Taiwanese tech giant Asus, has announced it will start the local manufacturing of smartphones in Sricity, Andhra Pradesh.
In a strategic move to expand its presence in India, Asus will start manufacturing operations with Zenfone 2 Laser, which will soon be followed by ZenFone Go.

Recently the company launched its brand new offerings - Zenfone Selfie, Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone 2 Deluxe. Zenfone 2 Laser, the first smartphone that will be manufactured in India, received such an overwhelming response that the company had to prepone the sale date on Flipkart.
Asus even went ahead and made an amazing video that showcases why it’s incredible when things are ‘Made in India’.
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser’s display comes with high-definition (HD) 1280 x 720-pixel resolution. It offers a 5 megapixel front camera and 13 megapixel rear camera with laser- assisted auto-focus that can lock the focus on an object in little as 0.3 seconds.
The phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and boasts of a dual microphone with noise cancellation.
The Zenfone 2 Laser is priced at Rs 9,999 and is available on Flipkart.
