An Apple iPhone X was reported to have exploded in US, immediately after a software update, 9to5 Mac reported on Wednesday.
The user, one Rocky Mohamadali, took to Twitter to report the incident, along with pictures of his burnt iPhone. The explosion took place after the phone was upgraded to the latest iOS version 12.1.
Apple soon responded to Mohamadali's tweet, saying that this is unexpected behaviour and asked him to get in touch with them for further investigation on the matter.
NDTV's Gadgets 360 reached out to Mohamadali, who said that his phone was upgrading to the latest software when he, as standard practice, put the phone on charging.
Having bought the phone in January, Mohamadali said that he was using the bundled Apple charger and cable that comes with the phone. He also told Gadgets 360 that the phone exploded after he removed it from charging.
It was further reported that Mohamadali has reached out to Apple who has asked him to ship the iPhone X to them, in order to investigate the issue.
