Apple’s big annual event to launch the iPhone 11 takes place on 10 September, and most reports suggest the Cupertino-based giant has three devices lined up for this year.
Tim Cook, CEO, Apple will take the stage in couple of days from now, and people are eager to know if the leaks of the iPhone 11 series and its rumoured names are the official ones or not.
So, before the launch takes place, here’s a closer look at everything we’ve read about the upcoming iPhone series for 2019, which will compete with Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Google Pixel 4 series.
Launch Date
Apple has confirmed the date for its big event this year when it is expected to host the launch of the new iPhones.
The American company has announced 10 September 2019 as the official date and the keynote by Tim Cook will take place from 10:30PM (IST) onwards, when it will reveal its upcoming flagship phone to the world at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.
Same Display as the Samsung Galaxy Series
Apple iPhone 11 will reportedly come with the same OLED displays used for Samsung's Galaxy S10 and Note 10.
Ever since the Cupertino-based company introduced OLED displays in the iPhone, it has used Samsung panels, but this could be the first time it uses the same panels found in Samsung's own phones.
New Names and Hardware in Tow
Apple hasn’t confirmed how many variants it will be launching at the event, however Chinese blog MyDrivers indicated that the Cupertino-based tech giant is set to roll out three variants of its next flagship.
There are some hardware changes expected in the new iPhone. The company could ditch the 3D touch feature while navigating on the phone. And looks like, Apple is ditching Thumb ID feature, in favour of Face ID for biometric security on all the variants. The new iPhone series is also expected to sport the new A13 chipset.
Triple Rear Cameras on iPhone 11
According to the report, the new iPhone 11 models replacing the iPhone XS series would have a triple rear camera setup at the back and all three sensors will be placed similarly.
It remains to be seen if Apple opts for wide-angle lens or a telephoto sensor, along with the primary camera sensor.
More Features Expected and Pricing
Reports suggest the Apple iPhone 11 would come with a USB-C charger as well as a lightning to USB-C cable in the box.
This means, iPhone users could at last experience fast-charging support, something that OnePlus, Huawei and Samsung users have been using for quite sometime now.
Apple would do away with its original 5-watt charger and instead include a USB-C charger that would enable twice-as-fast iPhone charging times without ditching the lightning connector, MacRumors reported last week.
Known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also suggested earlier that the upcoming iPhone models would be equipped with reverse wireless charging.
The starting price of the 6.1-inch iPhone has been shown as $799 (Rs 57,553 approx.) while the 5.8-inch and the 6.5-inch variants have been shown with price tags of $999 (Rs 71,960) and $1,099 (Rs 79,163).
