After all the speculations, Google has decided on the name Oreo for Android O or 8.0 as you call it. The big reveal took place on Monday, which coincided with the day when the solar eclipse made its presence felt in the United States.

Google has somewhat gone back to the basics, with Android Oreo, focusing on user-friendly features, instead of going for a design overhaul.

Few months back, many expected Android O to be named as Oatmeal Cookie (which honestly would have been a horrible name), but thankfully, Google has after a long while decided to go with a name that it already well-known to one and all.

The last time that happened was when Google named Android 4.4 version as KitKat, which worked a treat for both consumers as well as the brand.
