OnePlus could launch its wireless earphones in 2019, probably alongside the upcoming OnePlus 7 phone. This was hinted by Pete Lau, co-founder, OnePlus in a post on Weibo on Tuesday.

The company has received criticism from its users for removing headphone jack from OnePlus 6 and even the 6T in 2018. And now, Lau has suggested that its removal has given them the chance to work on a truly wireless earphone, much akin to the Apple AirPods.

Considering this is a OnePlus product, consumers will be hoping that the rumoured wireless earphones get a lower price tag than Rs 12,000 it costs to buy Apple’s device.

Lau also pointed about launching the Bullets Wireless earphones last year and priced at Rs 3,999 the overall feedback of the product has encouraged the company to focus its plans around wireless product.

Having said that, in his post, Lau has evidently felt that the Wireless could be improved further, and for this, he’s asked people to help the company iron out the chinks in its current product.

Technically, the Bullets Wireless is a neckband earphone, with wires dangling on both sides of the ear cups. So, even if the Bullets Wireless 2 is expected to launch, it’ll make sense for the company to work on truly wireless product, instead of focusing on product that’s priced competitively.

The OnePlus Bullets wireless merely takes forward the Bullets lineup of audio products from the phone maker. Priced at Rs 3,999 these have been designed with durability being the top-most focus.

It is flexible and lightweight to wear around the neck as well. OnePlus has purely focused on an all-rounder, giving the best output for all music genres without going overboard on the quality.
