Continuing with a similar design philosophy as the Spectre x360, HP has launched yet another hybrid laptop in the Indian market dubbed the HP Envy x360. Where the 4GB RAM variant has been launched starting at Rs 60,990, the 8GB RAM variant of the same will cost you Rs 74,990 with units being available in the market post November.
Adding to the sleek design, the new laptop is running on an AMD Ryzen processor which the company touts be a worthy companion for the Envy x360.
HP’s latest offering might sound compelling on paper yet there is stiff competition in this segment from the likes of the Dell XPS 13 and also the Asus Zenbook 13.
So, what’s new about the HP Envy x360 and how does it fare against the competition? Let’s have a look.
The new Envy 360 comes with a 13-inch full HD+ display that’s also capable of running 4K UHD content. Protection duties are well taken care of by Gorilla Glass. The new Envy x360 also supports 360-degree rotation and can be used in tablet mode as well. The laptop also gets face recognition technology to easily unlock for the user.
The body is well chiseled and sports a very thin form factor much like the earlier Spectre. At just 1.27 kilograms the laptop is portable and HP is also offering a stylus with this package which always gives the Envy an added advantage over its competition. The company also emphasised the Envy’s graphics prowess thanks to a Radeon Vega graphics processing unit inside.
In terms of battery, the company claims that the Envy will offer 12.5 hours of battery life and will also come with fast charging technology capable of delivering 50 percent charge with just 45 minutes of charging.
HP is vying for a top spot in the sub-1 lakh category and this is a place where companies like Dell and Asus have already been striving hard to win customers. The Dell XPS 13 (2018) makes for a compelling bargain in this segment thanks to its cutting-edge design and power specs like a 4K screen, an Intel 8th Gen quad core processor and 11 to 19 hours of battery life.
Yes, the XPS 13 with a price tag of Rs 97,990 it doesn’t come cheap but don’t forget, you’re getting a premium laptop that’s not only sturdy but a workhorse as well.
Asus too had recently launched the Zenbook 13 which is an ultra-portable yet powerful offering that sits in the same price bracket. Apart from its impressive specs portfolio, the Zenbook 13 comes across as a featherweight notebook, weighing less than 1 kilogram. A must buy for people on the go.
