The beginning of college life is special in more ways than one. Having said goodbye to your school uniform, you feel you’ve grown up all of a sudden. And why not? After all, you will no longer receive money for school-specific events such as picnic or class photography. No more adhering to time-tables or returning home straight from school. In short, welcome to the world of pocket money, lecture bunks and relaxed curfews at home. College will give you a taste of that independence that you’ve been all the while craving for.

Given that your college days will be the most memorable days of your life, it’s important for you to start off on the right foot and make the best impression on the first day. And if you are wondering as to how you are going to go about this, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered with this 5-point checklist:

Sport the right attitude: Your attitude is the first thing your new peers and professors are going to notice about you, so be at your social and jovial best. Yes, it’s your first day and you don’t know a lot of people, but no point being a grump or a recluse. Smile at the people you see. Take that first step, break the ice and make new friends.

Wear something that defines your style: Your clothes say a lot about who you are so make sure you wear something comfortable as also something reflective of your style. Strike a balance between being a ‘Fashion Week diva’ and being a ‘I-care-a-damn-about what-I’m-wearing’ person.

Keep your accessories game strong: Team up what you’re wearing with the right bag, shoes, watch and other accessories. Who doesn’t like a person that pays attention to details? Besides, keeping your accessories game strong will only help you create a unique identity for yourself.

Get a great smartphone: Now that you will spend more time out of the home every day, you need a smartphone which not just looks great, but also lasts you throughout the day. You can’t afford to look for a charger every few hours. The soon to be launched Moto E4 Plus ticks all boxes. It has the latest OS, a terrific 5000mAh battery life, and from the teasers we’ve seen, looks pretty great as well. You can go on weekend trips, chat with your new college friends as much as you want and do a lot more without pausing to charge!

The Moto E4 Plus will be unveiled on 12th July at 12 noon and be available on Flipkart. Be the first one to know all about the phone, its price and availability by catching the live webcast here.

Have a wider perspective: It’s just your first day at college, so take things as they come. You may have a great first day or a terrible one, but don’t be too quick to judge or get bogged down. It’s after all just the beginning of one of the most wonderful periods of your life.

They say the friends you make in college stay with you for a lifetime. So go ahead, forge those new relationships and make some great memories. And while you are busy enjoying all the independence that comes with college life, don’t forget to be responsible.
