The much anticipated Yamaha R15 version 3.0 motorcycle was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018. The motorcycle has been launched at a steep price of Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Indian market – which may be a good price point for bike enthusiasts – targeting race-bike enthusiasts within this budget seems to be a good offering.
Apart from some cosmetic changes, the bike also welcomes some new performance upgrades. The new model R15 V3 comes with a 155 cc, single cylinder four-valve, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection. The company claims it to be a better performer.
The R15 V3 visually looks much more muscular than before, and borrows a lot of elements from the R3 and the Yamaha R6. The front fairing is as intimidating as before, although there is a gap right between the headlights that comes out as an uncanny addition. The tailpiece looks sharper and the fuel tank sports a much bigger design and accentuates the whole look of the bike.
The 155cc single-cylinder engine is capable of pumping out 19.31 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm of maximum torque at 8,500 rpm.

Despite the small 153cc engine, the bike is not devoid of impressive performance as it comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox and a power-train that gives an extra push thanks to the slipper clutch that has now been added to the setup.
The bike carries forward the same ‘Deltabox’ philosophy as the previous R15 V2 and comes with telescopic front suspension and monoshock. R15 version 3.0 comes equipped with 17-inch tubeless tyres and the riding posture is also much more sporty than before.
Yamaha has made the R15 Version 3 available in Racing Blue and Thunder Grey color options.
