Renault on Wednesday launched an updated version of their affordable hatchback, the Kwid.
The French car maker is calling it the feature-loaded range of their smallest hatchback, which comes with a lot of first in segment features like reverse camera, rear armrest and a 12V charging socket for the rear passengers.
The new car will be available in both automatic and manual transmission variants.
The new car comes with two engine options – an 800cc and a 1.0 litre SCe engines.
The 800cc engine will make 54 bhp of power and 72 Nm torque while the 1.0 litre motor will put out 68 PS power and 91 Nm of twist.
On the inside, the Kwid features the 7-inch Media NAV system and a digital instrument cluster. The car’s boot has a capacity of 300 litres, which is more than enough for a small car like the Kwid.
On the outside, the car looks basically the same. The new additions are a new grille and a more mature stance. The top-end variant will feature body coloured bumpers, full wheel covers and fog lamps.
Kwid has been a decent performer for Renault in the Indian market, owing to its affordable price tag, putting it against the Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Hyundai Grand i10 in its segment.
