The Labour Party in Netherlands has proposed a motion in their parliament to ban the sales of diesel and petroleum cars in the country by 2025. According to the proposal, starting 2025 only electric vehicles will be sold in the country.

A majority of the elected officials have supported the proposal of the Labour Party’s initiative. The move would allow existing petroleum cars to stay on the road but new ones would not be sold in the market.

If the motion passes through the Dutch Parliament, it will be a disruptive one for the automotive industry and the country will become a case study for electric car manufacturers around the world.
