British motorcycle racer Guy Martin has broken the speed record for the wall of death, more popularly known as ‘Maut ka Kuan’ in India, by going at the speed of 78.15 mp/h (125.7 km/h).

His record attempt took place at the largest wall of death in the world, a structure 120 feet (39 meters) in diameter at the Manby Airfield, UK, on a reinforced Indian Scout which was modified with special braces to make it sturdy enough to support the mass of both, the bike and rider.

Under the supervision of Ken Fox, a well-known Wall of Death rider, Martin had to endure forces of over 6 times the gravitational force (that’s jet fighter territory) on a motorcycle!
