Mahindra has made their first launch of 2016 in the form of the NuvoSport, the facelifted version of the Mahindra Quanto. The sub-4 metre compact SUV goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and its cousins – the Mahindra KUV100 and the TUV300.
The car has been launched with a starting price of Rs 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane).
The NuvoSport is powered by a 1493cc diesel engine that can put out a 100 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. According to the company, the car is capable of giving a mileage of 17.45 km/l. However, it does not get a petrol offering like the KUV100.
In terms of styling, the NuvoSport looks more aggressive than the outgoing Quanto, thanks to the large front bumper, hood scoop, new tail lamp and headlight designs and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).
The NuvoSport also comes with a 6.2-inch infotainment display with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, cruise control, Intellipark Reverse Assist and steering mounted audio and phone controls. In terms of safety the Dual Airbags, ABS, and EBD are available as optional add-ons.
