The Kia SP Concept, showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, will be launched as the Seltos, the company confirmed in a press release early on Tuesday, 4 June.

The name, according to Kia, is inspired by Greek mythology. ‘Celtos’ means the son of Hercules. The car, according to an NDTV report, will be unveiled on 20 June.

“Seltos is all set to redefine the mid-SUV car segment with its eye-catching looks, exclusive segment first features and athletic design. We have spent a lot of time in perfecting our car to suit the taste of the Indian customers and I am glad that this originally India intended car is so perfect that it compelled us to make Seltos available globally,” Manohar Bhat, Head of Marketing and Sales at Kia Motors India said in the press release.

The company had earlier released the sketches of the mid-range SUV, giving us a hint on what the interior design might look like.

As per the sketches released online, the interiors of the Kia SUV concept showcase an organised and clean dashboard and air-conditioning vents at each end. The most eye-catching feature sits at the centre of the dashboard; a 10.25-inch display, which in all probability is a full touch panel that supports Android Auto and possibly Apple CarPlay as well.

There are visible wooden inserts blend well with the overall design of the dashboard. Another sketch also seems to reveal the SUV’s reverse camera feature.

The air-conditioning controls have been nestled smartly beneath the central AC vents which also comes with a digital display and a knob to control the air temperature and the single-zone auto climate control system.

The three-spoke steering wheel seems to have a modern look with subtle embellishment of brushed aluminium and houses all the touch controls to toggle music, take phone calls and even cruise control. A pair of paddle shifters can also been seen peeking from behind the steering spokes.
