The 2016 Toyota Innova has been officially revealed in Indonesia, where it is sold as the Toyota Kijang.
Toyota has done a lot of work in the looks department and the new Innova feels like a redesigned model instead of a face-lifted one.
With the large grille, two thick chrome strips and edgy headlamps, it resembles the modern day Toyota vehicle designs. The new projector headlamps have integrated daytime LED running strips and the indicators are now next to the fog lights.
On the back, Toyota has ditched the vertical tail lamps and sports a new design.
The new Innova will be available in three variants, namely G, V and Q. G being the lowest and Q being the highest.
The 2016 version will have two driving modes – Eco and Power – across all variants. It will be powered by a 2L petrol and 2.4L diesel engine and will offer five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions.
To keep you safe, dual airbags are a standard feature along with stability control and hill-start assist.
The new Innova seems promising from all angles and it looks like Toyota is set to repeat its success story. Currently, the Innova is priced at Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It will be interesting to see what the new model is priced at, as that will either make it or break it for the 2016 Toyota Innova.
