Audi has a trickle down philosophy, where features are first introduced in higher models and eventually, they make their way to the lower models as well. The A3 gets a larger front grille and air vents, and the new Matrix LED headlamps give it the same profile as the new A4.

From the back, the bumper has been redesigned along with the tail lamps.

The steering wheel now has three-spokes, but the biggest addition inside the car is the Virtual Cockpit, which first made an appearance on the Audi TT. The 7 inch MMI interface display supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It also comes loaded with technology like massage seats, adaptive cruise control with traffic assist, active lane assist and pedestrian detection.

The car also has a new 1 litre turbocharged TFSI engine that puts out 115 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. There is a 2 litre TFSI engine variant as well which generates 190 horsepower and 320 Nm torque.

For those who prefer diesel, the 1.6 litre turbocharged offering gives 110 horsepower, whereas the range topping S3 has the same engine, but now produces 10 hp more, taking the total power output to 310 hp and 400 Nm torque. These engines come connected to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission.
