Hyundai has unleashed its latest version of Elantra, the luxury sedan, which has been priced starting from Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). As informed by the company, these are introductory prices which will be revised by end of this year.
The Elantra launched is now in its 6th generation, sporting Hyundai’s Fluidic 2.0 design language. The Elantra’s biggest transformation has taken place on the front. The sedan now carries big-size angular front grille with chrome accents, along with stylised headlamps.
Elantra comes in petrol and diesel variants. With petrol you get a 2-litre engine, and folks going for the diesel variant get a 1.6-litre VGT CRDi engine. The engine is mated with a 6-speed manual automatic transmission.
According to Hyundai, the petrol engine claims to offer 152 PS of power and 192nm of torque, while the diesel engine can give an output of 128 PS and 260 nm of torque. The company claims that the new Elantra can offer up to 15 km/l of mileage on petrol and 22.5 km/l for diesel.
The side profile too sports strong lines to give the car a sporty stance. Hyundai Elantra joins the likes of Volkswagen Jetta and the Toyota Corolla Altis in this price bracket and segment.
