Maruti’s runaway compact SUV Vitara Brezza will soon find its match with the Hyundai Kona. We got a first glimpse of the four-wheeler at the Auto Expo 2016, but looks like the South Korean brand can’t wait anymore to let loose its own version of compact SUV.
The company has released a short teaser of the Hyundai Kona, and by the looks of it, we can’t wait to see what the car has to offer.
Hyundai Kona is said to borrow its design traits from the new i20, and will fall under its Creata SUV.
As you can see through the video, Kona could pack in a lot of features, making it attractive to the buyers. The navigation screen on the dashboard isn’t a common sight in the Brezza-segment, so perhaps Kona is looking to disrupt the market.
The SUV is likely to come with a bold front grille, giving it the muscular touch that all compact SUVs lack in the market right now.
You can also expect alloy wheels to be part of the variants (not sure, if it trickles down to the base model), flashy LED headlamps, bundled with LED back lights as well.
The length of the car puts it in the Duster category, but as Hyundai has claimed, the Kona is likely to be a B-segment SUV, and the price could make or break the deal for the company. However, ground clearance might be sacrificed to keep the price down.
