Honda has finally decided to give a go-ahead to the launch of its all-new SUV HR-V in India, reported Autocar India. The new addition to its Indian line-up is likely to be launched around the Diwali festival, according to sources.
The automaker has been evaluating the launch of the HR-V for sometime now, due to the limited amount of localised components. Honda will now import the SUV via the CKD route and assemble the vehicle in India, reported Autocar India.
Both the engines are expected to receive upgrades to make them BSVI-compliant.
With the launch of HR-V, Honda is looking forward to strike a chord with the Indian buyers, which the BR-V failed to do, according to a Zigwheels report.
According to Zigwheels, Honda had begun shortlisting vendors for the HR-V in 2018 and the launch is slated for the end of 2019.
The SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom India. It is set to compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, the Nissan Kicks as well as the upcoming Duster facelift.
