Earlier this year, Honda Car India showcased the new Honda CR-V at the Auto Expo in New Delhi, as well as at the Geneva International Motor Show. And now, its official launch is just around the corner. If reports are to be believed, the new Honda CR-V will be launched in India this festive season.
The 2018 Honda CR-V will be the first CR-V variant to get a seven-seat set up. Till now all models have been five seaters, and the only seven seater in Honda’s line up is the Honda BR-V (and Mobilio earlier).
The petrol variant will come with the tried-and-tested 2.4 litre engine that puts out 184 bhp of power and 226 Nm of torque. Prices for the new CR-V are likely to range between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.
Besides the new Honda CR-V, Honda Car India will be launching the new Honda Civic sedan in early 2019. This car too was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in New Delhi and the Geneva Motor show.
The Honda Civic too will likely get a diesel engine in India for the first time - the same 1.6 litre diesel that the CR-V will have. Besides that, it will also likely come with a 2-litre petrol motor.
The Honda Civic will compete with cars like the Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra in the Rs 18 lakh to Rs 22 lakh price bracket.
