Ford has launched the Endeavour at a price range which pits it directly against the Toyota Fortuner. The price range of the car starts at Rs 24.75 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 29.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Ford has followed a new design language with the goal to achieve an aggressive-looking SUV with the large chrome grille, HID headlamps with daytime-running LEDs and a tall, wide stance.
The exteriors will please those who like sharp lines and curves, but might be too huge and clunky for a few people.

The car will be available with two TDCi turbo diesel engine variants.
The 2.2-litre engine produces 158 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque and the 3.2-litre variant produces 197 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque which will be connected to a 6-speed automatic/manual transmission.
You can also choose between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive drivetrains.

In terms of technology, Ford is offering park assist, rear-wheel camera and a voice controlled TFT infotainment system.
The Terrain Management system lets you adjust the engine power output, suspension dampening and steering stiffness for different terrains by selecting between rock, snow/mud and sand modes.
The car also comes with hill launch assist, descent control, ABS, EBD, seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control and electronic power steering assist to help you make your off-road trips safe.
Ford’s new offering will be going against the Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai’s Santa Fe.
But comparing this car against the current generation of the Fortuner is unfair as a new version is expected to launch at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and it will be interesting to see how the two cars perform in the Indian market.
