The Delhi Auto Expo 2016 started with a bang, with a slew of highly anticipated launches and concept premiers by global brands. The Quint extensively covered the Day 1 of Auto Expo and brought all the masala from ground zero.

Day one of the biennial motor show was replete with global launches, and appearances by Bollywood and cricket stars. Here are a few moments to rewind.

Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza was one the most anticipated launches in this edition of the Auto Expo. It was also the first car to be unveiled at the event, right at the start of the show.

Just before unveiling the new Navi moto-scooter, Honda was talking about ‘revolutionising the design philosophy’ and we couldn’t help but wonder about the tacky slides which they presented to support their claims.

The motor show saw some really fancy cars. Seen here is the new Chevrolet Camaro.

And some humble ones too. But hey, they’re all electric.

There were a few curious souls, who took a close-and-personal glance, of the bikes, of course.

A mob literally attacked and almost brought down a section of Suzuki’s stall. For what? All of them wanted a media kit.

After carefully taking out the accessories and merchandise in the bag, the papers and other ‘useless’ items were randomly thrown around.

Amid all this excitement, there were a few solitary moments too. Worth a yawn.

Bollywood stars jumped in to keep the buzz alive. Ranbir Kapoor was seen with Hero Group Chairman, Pawan Munjal at the Hero stall.

And Katrina Kaif was spotted at Jaguar’s launch of XE. She smiled and posed with the car, and answered none of the questions posed by the media.

Karan Singh Grover unveiled the UM range of cruiser motorcycles. He asked if anybody wanted to ask any question, but no one came forward. So he kept posing.

Then there was GOD! Sachin Tendulkar was spotted spending a lot of time with the BMW cars.

Not made for Indian roads. Yes, the car too.

The media had a field day with smiling celebrities, chart-topping cars and bikes, and the huge, expansive event.

So much so that most of them were almost living at the venue.
