The new Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R is based on a completely new platform. What you've seen with the Dzire and Swift in 2018, the Heartect platform, is the base for the Wagon-R as well. Which is why you get a longer wheelbase and it's a bit taller. You don't immediately notice it, but it does make a difference. Overall the space has increased as well.

It gets a 1-litre and 1.2-litre engine option, with manual and automatic transmissions. It is priced between Rs 4.19 lakh going up to Rs 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom). How does it compare with the Hyundai Santro now?

Mahindra Alturas G4 vs Ford Endeavour: The Big SUV Battle

The Mahindra Alturas G4 wants a share of the big SUV pie, driving head-to-head with the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

Priced at Rs 29.95 lakh, the Mahindra Alturas G4 (4wd) is much cheaper than the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner, but it packs in quite a bit of kit, making it an SUV worth considering. We put the Alturas through its paces along with a Ford Endeavour 3.2 Titanium 4x4.

End of the Road For Fiat Brand in India, Only Jeep to Stay

Another iconic brand is likely to exit India soon. According to report in Autocar India, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), the parent company that owns the Fiat and Jeep brands in India, has given up hope on Fiat India. The company has had a poor showing in terms of sales numbers for a while.

FCA will now rely solely on the Jeep brand in India. The Compass has been chalking up half-decent numbers. It has been managing to sell about 1,150 Jeep Compass SUVs each month over the past six months, which bodes well for the brand.

Elon Musk Releases All Tesla Patents To Help Fight Climate Change

Elon Musk, Tesla founder, has released all of the electric carmaker's patents, as part of an effort to fight climate change.

Tesla says it will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology. It was a remarkable move in an industry where the smallest idea or seed of invention is carefully guarded to protect its monetary value. And it in fact came on the same day US prosecutors charged a Chinese national with stealing secrets from Apple's self-driving vehicle project.
